Today, Wilfried is on Cyprus in order to present the “Best of animateCOLOGNE 2012”, a special selection made for 2nd Motion Festival in Nicosia Cyprus – 22-24 March 2013. The Festival is organised by The European University Cyprus located in the Greek part of Nicosia.
This article would like to honour Cyprus as a place for artistic motion pictures & Demetra Englezou, as the curator of Motion Festival Cyprus. Wilfried had previously two other collaboration partners, Cyprus Shortfilm Festival 2008, an festival located on the Turkish part of Cyprus, which Wilfried was attending, and Pantheon Xperimental Video Festival 2007, organised by the cultural association Pantheon in the Greek part of Cyprus.
Wilfried visited Cyprus on occasion of his participation in the festival 2008 on the Turkish side. So, he experienced Cyprus from another point of view most tourists usually do. In 2008, the days were the first days, when local people and tourists could pass the checkpoint between the Southern Greek and the Northern Turkish part in order to visit the opposite part of the island. So, it was a kind of historical moment, when Wilfried passed as one of the first tourists the official checkpoint. Along the boarder he was exploring the noman’s land, a strange feeling in an united Europe, reminding Wilfried of the former wall separating Eastern und Western Germany since 1961, and in the same way the wall errected in Israel separating Israeli & Palestinian territory. Such walls are inhuman and the expression of political helplessness!

Synopsis
A human being is obliged to spend at least one day in his lifetime on Mars. Mars the red desert planet, Mars the god of war. Mars can be anywhere, any place which is identified with the inhuman, violence, hate, rage, revenge and despair. Agricola de Cologne filmed the original material 2006 during a visit in Palestine & Israel.
