Antonio Alvarado
Antonio Alvarado is one of the artists who joint Wilfried’s activities very early in 2001 and belongs to those few who kept the contacts during the past 20 years via collaborating on different levels and in different functions. That’s quite remarkable in these fast running times when professional relations are reduced to posting latest news in the biography. Because Wilfried met Antonio in Madrid several times, the first time in 2003 at MAEM Mostoles, something personal grew up through the years which is more that just mutual benefit in terms of listing events and incidents in one’s own biography. In this way, it is remakable, how many times there were occasions for participating in common projects and events during the years. When Wilfried was participating in Antonio’s “Zona de Morana” in 2015, an event structure Antonio was organising in the countryside outside of Madrid at Antonio’s own property, Wilfried was really glad to participate, because he knew this might be eventually the last occasion to meet each other, and – it was a really personal meeting together with the below listed particpants. In all the stress of submitting and participating in events and fill the own biography with quite irrelant data, Wilfried had decided to participate only in events, yet, if there are the chance to meet people on an advanced human level, not just say hello and farewell. In this sense this meeting on the countryside was quite rich, and Wilfried was happy that he had met Antonio on such a human level, an occasion which very likely will not happen again, because both, Antonio and Wilfried are in an advanced age. As a part of NewMediaFest2020 ’10 Wilfried would like to honour Antonio individually via this article and thank him for the opportunity to be compagnions in art during so many years!

Digital, cybernetic and multimedia artist. He has been working for 40 years, having performed multiple solo and group exhibitions. More than 20 years ago he began to work with computers, since then he mixes in his works the electronic, the digital and the plastic.
My ideas, close to Theory of Strings and other contemporary theories, I do not use them as absolute truth but as an excuse to uncover worlds that hide under the layers of what is called reality, expanding it.
Having knowledge of software and hardware, I am in favor of working in collaboration with other people. I am currently developing works, which combine plastic and electronics, with the Weber-Lutgen
Gallery in Seville, the Museo La Neomudejar in Madrid and some members of Makespace Madrid.

All information is inevitably partial. Nothing is linear. We really do not know how many dimensions or how many nuances the most common fact can have. These manifestations can represent how I
understand the world around me and why I move in my work as a commissioner. To all knowledge I must approach, then every technique must be tested, accepted or abandoned.
My ideas, close to Theory of Strings and other contemporary theories, I do not use them as absolute truth but as an excuse to uncover worlds that are hidden under the layers of what is called reality, expanding it. I make this selection based on the quality and category of the artists. I have chosen to choose consecrated artists along with others who start their career in video art.

Marta Azparren
She holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and distributes her artistic activity between drawing, video art and performing arts.
Receives the 2009 Plastic Arts Grant from the Community of Madrid, for the Alephs Project, videoactions on mediation of the work of art and blindness. His work in video has been curated by outstanding curators such as Susana Blas, Javier Duero, Sema D’Acosta, Juan Francisco Rueda, Kisito Assangni, Wilfred Agricola of Cologne, Matteo Bittanti, among
others.
It has been shown in exhibitions, festivals and international fairs such as New Media Film Festival, DFA’s Dance on Camera Festival, Art Beijing, Videoform Festival, XI Triennale International (Milan), Kassel Dokfest, ESTAMPA Fair, LOOP, Contemporary Scene Festival, Night at Blanco, Instituto Cervantes, among many others and has received the Prize Shut Up And Listen! Festival (Vienna, 2014), Jury Prize at the MADATAC 04 Festival (Madrid), Machinima Expo Award (USA), among
others.
Very closely associated with the performing arts, she regularly collaborates with contemporary theaterand dance companies as a performer or performing installations and videos integrated in the works:
Rocío Molina, Sara Calero, Fernando Renjifo, … and has also directed several plays. He collaborates regularly with musicians: Maneuvers, audio-visual interventions in industrial spaces, video and live painting with the musician Pablo Martín Jones and audiovisual projects shared with the composer Sergio Blardony (the video Tracto has been exhibited and awarded in numerous festivals).
His drawings have been published accompanying the work of live poets and books as in Nostalgia of the action with Ana Gorría, Federico García Lorca in Where time is not freeze, Writings on music, José Luis Gómez Toré in Claroscuro del bosque who is coauthor) and are heard birds and Eva Chinchilla in Verbo Rea.

Isabel Perez del Pulgar born in Granada (Spain) resided in France since 2015. Graduated in Geography and History specialty art by the University of Granada. He performs monographic courses
on Color Theory, Painting, Drawing and Techniques of engraving in the School of Arts of Granada and courses on design and digital art. In the decade of the 2000 adopts like mode of creation the video. The video as a plastic vehicle that auna movement, sound and pictorial vision. The work is conceived as a continuous fresco, divided into series and autonomous projects.

Founder of O Grelo Producciones and Art House Madrid. He has worked on video-performance since 1994 combining theater and poetry. Perform facilities-performance, experimental film and
videocreation.
His piece “Primitive” has been shown in the Filmoteca Española. Other works, “La Ira”, “Acidia”, “Huérfanos de Cernuda”, etc. in an independent and experimental line. His feature film “Nunc et in
hora”, 2010, had 14 nominations Goya and 8 Mestre Mateo. Finished his feature film “DRAKO” is currently “Narciso violado”.
As a theater and film actor he has worked in Spain and Internationally with Eddy Bereycken, Benno Boudgoust, Nada kokotovich, Komei Sugano, Marcel Van Brakel, Ricardo Franco, Liberto Rabal.
He founded the production company “O GRELO PRODUCCIONES”, 2005, focusing as independent director and producer. “NUNC ET IN HORA” was selected by MADATAC 2010 (Instituto Cervantes),
International Optica Festival 2010 (La Casa de América); “Acidia” by La Fabrica (Barcelona); nominated for Best Independent Artist 2009 by International Optica Festival.
He creates La Maleta Amarilla with Nestor Prieto, as an international distribution seal for independent VideoArte and CineArte.
As a writer stand out: “Loba Maria”, editorial La avispa; “O meu libro das sombras”, “Cuarto de geranios… “, O Grelo ediciós. Founded Vidarte with Iñaki Echarte, together publish “Huerfanos de Cernuda” 2009. As editor he is responsible for the Cuadernos Inutiles collection. As speaker he lectures and masterclass on cultural management in the Foro Iberoamericano de
Cultura, the Master in Management of the Cinematographic Industry of the Universidad Carlos III, Madrid, in the subject “Comisariado”. He is part of the curatorial team of the IVAHM festival since its creation. Codirige the Center of Arts of Avant-garde and Artistic Residence La Neomudejar together with Néstor Prieto, being invited to realize a project for the Museu da Republica de Rio de Janeiro.

claRa is a Video Artist from Madrid based in London. She mixes video and animation with painting, found footage, digital collages and programming, to create visual poems. Her videos reflect on the importance of images in the construction of the collective imagination, the power of mass media and telecommunications, the marketing strategies and the brands and adverts ubiquity, interactivity and hyperlinks as an illusion of the selection, the changes in the contemporary culture with the electronic distribution, the fragmentation of the narrative discourse, the information
overload, the surveillance control and the loss of privacy.
She has recently received the Most Promising Video Artist Award in Madatac 07 – Contemporary Audio-Visual & New Media Arts Festival, Madrid, Spain. Her pieces have been awarded in other
international Video Art festivals such as FIVAC – Camagüey International Video Art Festival (Cuba), and BANG – Barcelona International Video Art Festival (Spain) and screened in galleries, museums
and cultural spaces around the world.

Short synopsis
In post-industrial society we are witnessing information overload. This occurs when the amount of input in a system exceeds its processing capacity. We have fairly limited cognitive processing
capacity, so when information overload occurs, it is likely that a reduction in decision quality will occur.
Traditionally, text encoded human knowledge and memory, the printed word was linked to the art of rhetoric. The popularity of hyperlink illustrates the continuing decline in the field of rhetoric and the mistrust of contemporary culture in hierarchies. The two sources connected through a hyperlink have equal weight, without any having priority over the other.
In the different mediums of expression (literature, cinema, visual arts…), we are assisting to the fragmentation of the narrative discourse. We are questioning the traditional narrative resources with the juxtaposition of images, texts, copy-paste collages and a schizophrenic nature. In cyberspace, documents combine musical fragments with other sounds, texts, images…etc. It is this combination of concrete elements that produces the abstract meaning.

First prize at the Italian festival of archeology in Perugia with the video “Vivant Denon”. In 2017 you have participated in the IVAHM festival in Madrid and in the Miami new media festival.

Nuestro proyecto trata sobre preguntas y reflexiones acerca del arte en un contexto de introspección donde la innovación y la inteligencia artificial se mezclan con elementos tradicionales reinventándolos.
Prestamos una atención especial a los trabajos realizados con nuevas formas de expresión y nuestra intención es dar a conocer y difundir estos en La Moraña, pero también que los artistas de La Moraña que utilicen estas herramientas puedan darse a conocer.
Creemos que la complicidad entre vida, tecnología y arte debe ser total, los artistas deben trabajar al unísono con público, ingenieros, literatos y científicos siendo todos, en ultima instancia, los autores y creadores. Estos lenguajes nos permiten convertir al espectador en una interface más del proceso, adiestrando y dominando la relación entre la obra de arte y el público.
Esta postura propone un dialogo íntimo en nuestro interior, para hacernos preguntas o simplemente para reinventar nuestra cultura.
Encuentro en Zona de Moraña se ha realizado durante 5 temporadas. En ellas se han presentado proyecciones de vídeo, performances y exposiciones principalmente.

En Zona de Moraña, es también importante la convivencia de los artistas y el intercambio entre ellos, la población autoctona y gestores dentro del mundo del arte.
Debemos desctacar este año, además de la presencia de Wilfried Agricola de Cologne, de Queralt Lencinas, directora artistica durante dos ocasiones del Festival de Videoposesía que se celebra en Buenos Aires, también hemos contado con la presencia de Antonio de Navascués, director de la galería Edurne en Madrid y de Edurardo San Pedro, director de exposiciones en el Ayuntamiento de Móstoles.

Zona de Moraña (Moraña area) is an alternative space for artistic expression aimed at developing artworks that are made with innovative means and ends. Our project deals with questions and thoughts about the art of introspection in a context where innovation and artificial intelligence reinventing mixed with traditional elements.
We pay special attention to the work done with new forms of expression and our intention is to publicize and disseminate these in La Moraña, but also artists of La Moraña using these tools may make themselves known.
We believe that the complicity between life, technology and art must be total, artists must work in unison with the public, engineers, writers and scientists being all, ultimately, authors and creators. These languages allow us to turn the viewer into a process interface, mentor, and dominate the relationship between the artwork and the public.
This position proposes an intimate dialogue within us, to ask questions or just to reinvent our culture.
In 2015 it has presented an exhibition of artists from the region, a festival of video presented by artvideoKOELN / CologneOFF, electronic performance and various instalciones.
In Zona de Moraña, coexistence of artists and exchanges between them, the indigenous population and managers within the art world is also important.
We desctacar this year, besides the presence of Wilfried Agricola de Cologne, Queralt Lencinas, artistic director for two occasions Festival Videoposesía held in Buenos Aires, we have also benefited from the presence of Antonio de Navascués, gallery director Edurne Edurardo in Madrid and San Pedro, director of exhibitions at the City hall of Móstoles.

Short synopsis
Silent Cry is the visualization of an internal cry happening all the time, when society does not allow to show deep emotional affection. The silent cry is always present caused by never ending traumatizations during decades hidden behind the facade people wants to see. And even if the cry would be be seen or heard, people would refuse to face it. The work release is giving sound a particular relevance.

In November 1979, El Foro was born, a pioneering cultural center at the time: it was the seed of what would become the houses of culture and popular schools and universities. It was created as a non-profit cultural association, and it was possible thanks to the support of different people, including artists, intellectuals, politicians and various professionals who thought that culture was essential to grow in freedom. Ute Kadner, Paloma Navares, Peridis, Orcajo, Forges, Pepe Castellote, Ian Gibson, José Hierro, José Luis Aranguren … are some of those who fought for El Foro and supported its proposals.
There are many activities that have been carried out in these 28 years: music, video, cinema, theater, meeting with poets, gatherings, conferences, carnival parties, performances, theatrical readings, tributes … Some have passed through our exhibition hall. of the most outstanding artists in the country, and they are still open for the most interesting proposals from young creators. Despite its small space, the center has numerous workshops, which operate during the school year. In addition, it opens its doors to meetings of other associations or groups.
Electrocuciones
Electrocutions is a bet that from Amplus we launched to show the paths through which the most advanced art moves today.
Electronic art is not that it represents the avant-garde but rather that it represents something much stronger as it immerses itself in a total rediscovery of the world, a different way of living and developing.
This way of life that electronics, computing, robotics and all those surprises that technology still has in store for us, was something inconceivable not only in the 19th century but even in most of the 20th century.
Human relationships, robotic relationships, the interrelationships between man and machine make us wonder if evolution ends with man or simply man is but a first step.
With Electrocutions we simply want an approximation to that fascination that awaits us.

The video tells the story of the human desire to be as close to truth as possible. But who ever will succeed while living a life dominated by the fast running time and endless searching?
If there is any paradise, then monks or people really resting within themselves find a paradise close to truth close to GOD. But it is only truth people are believing in. Is there absolute truth?
The video consists of three sections, a spiritual and a physical section and the acting level, the artist who is filming the scene, an intruder who become witness of a ritual of truth.
This basic video was filmed in 2003 at the Rila Monastery, the spiritual centre of Bulgaria.

The house of tomorrow is the house of one’s identity, it does not need to be a concrete house or building, but represents a secure and protected place where people can stand for what they are and represent, a human being. And this human may have many identities in different fields, the sexual identity represents only one among many others.
MAEM Electronic Art Show of Móstoles, is a festival that I created from a request from the Department of Plastic and Visual Arts of the City of Móstoles.
The request was directed to the realization of a web page on electronic art only. I transformed this primitive request into the 1st Móstoles Electronic Art Show.
For 5 years I carried out this festival.
The curved movement
Light is responsible for the appearance of things. Its reflection is what gives us the shape, size and color of reality.
But if light is distorted as a result of gravity, reality can have a different appearance and all the knowledge we have about things can be called into question.
As light moves through space, the gravity of celestial bodies bend it. One might wonder, then, if we can trust the knowledge we have of the Universe.
If the elements that provide us with knowledge become so weak, it is not surprising that thousands of descriptions of the world around us have been born and died for centuries.
When we are more sure of our discoveries, the movement of these curves, distancing and distorting everything that we considered safe. The movement in the evolution of our knowledge is in one of these curvatures; We can no longer say that time is the fourth dimension; the fourth dimension is the roads of the world, misnamed virtual, offered by computer art, where the movement is really curved.
MAEM 5th edition
Art is always something intangible; for many, a world of illusions that does not reflect reality and only a door of escape. It is one of the fallacies used by those who do not know art or who cannot know. Art is the reality par excellence; the so hackneyed novelty is not such, it is simply another vision of the real. Art, then, enriches the knowledge we have of reality.
It is not by chance that with each discovery of science art evolves; they are the same, different manifestations of knowledge.
Electronic, cybernetic art, or whatever we want to call it, has allowed us to represent the multiplicity of the world, as posited by modern science and that is what we present for the fifth time.
In MAEM CINCO, we show many of the authors who have participated during all the editions of MAEM, but what we show, being the same, is different from the same.
Camargo Cibernetico – Electronic Art Festival
In 1998, Agricola de Cologne became a victim of a terror attack. The video is the attempt to make the traumatic experiences perceivable via metaphoric images on an emotional level .
The artist’s voice performing one of his musical compositions uses sound instead of words in order to symbolize the speechlessness and inability of the people surrounding him to react properly.

I International Festival of Electronic Art of Cantabria
Cybernetics, a constant of the future.
“Cybernetics is the science that comparatively studies the communication systems and automatic regulation of living beings with electronic and mechanical systems similar to them, according to the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy. And the truth is that our present and our future are intimately linked to it. Not surprisingly, data communication is a constant in the human brain and, as a consequence, in computers created by man. And an inevitable communication revolution, which is already in its dawn, will mark our future, that of humanity and that of all living or dead beings. Not just a constant of the future; communication is the future.In this I International Festival of Electronic Art of Cantabria, I curated in collaboration with Manuel Pérez-Petit under the name Sediento. It was a fairly complex festival in which artists from America, Europe and Asia participated, 9 of them being present at the festival.
There was work for the Internet, a concert, presentations by the artists present, a video-conference with two artists in America and an interactive installation made by me. The views of the Landscape that had premiered in 2005 in The Atomic Eye.
The commitment to the Technological Age
Where is the life that we’ve lost living,
where is the wisdom that we have lost in knowledge,
where is the knowledge that we have lost in information?

Eliot, Choruses from “the rock”, ch. 1, v. 14-16)It was Rimbaud who began his particular “Season in Hell” with some verses in which he said that one night he sat beauty on his knees and found her bitter and insulted her. And he added: “I armed myself against justice”, thus beginning one of the most potent poems of French literature. Technology is often made to us as beauty was made to the poet: bitter, and it is even likely that it deserves to be insulted -although it is true that not always-, but technology is also, even though many times it does not seem so , an element that generates stimuli for creation -and not just a support-, a means of expression, in short, of the human soul, and in fact it turns out that today’s artists take advantage of it for the benefit of their creative intention, even who deny it because it seems unworthy.
The Technological Age has definitely entered the work of art, and it is still true, on the other hand, that data and algorithms are much more durable than any other expression of human capacity. And not for this reason artists have to turn their backs on tradition. On the contrary, electronic art cannot be understood without artistic tradition, and it does not imply any break with the heritage received from centuries and centuries of creation.
From the moment that the cave artist took the means available to him and used them to express his beliefs and most intimate feelings, a kind of definitive alchemy took place that has survived to this day. If the man from Altamira lived today, he would surely have a computer in his workshop.
When Antonio Machado wrote: “Today is always still”, of course, he was not aware of the Technological Age, although it was already beginning, but he hit the nail on the head that life can only be lived today. And the truth is that in the “today” of art something has to say and to contribute electronic technology.
CAMARGO CIBÉRNETICO is a lucid and powerful bet that from Camargo is launched to the world, with an untold capacity today to project the vitality that is found here in most of the corners of the planet, from where they will look out into this window of today’s most rabid It is not known how many people opens from here, as there will be many eyes that want to know how our bet turns out. In this I International Electronic Art Festival of Cantabria, a very selected selection of world-class artists will appear, from ten countries on three continents, a good part of which will be present in person in Camargo during these days.

The work describes the principle of “code” or “coding” in form of an allegory, a metaphoric story as a ritual of meeting, dominating and resigning. The code is identified as a state of the static, dogmatic and conservative, which asks for obedience, but gives no chance to escape.

Synopsis
Video based on a poetic text by Agricola de Cologne inspired by the Central Station of Milan (Italy).
Metropolis: sunday morning, between open end and twilight, between hope and resignation, between following a dream and returning that night to the home town or village outside.
Coming from the disco, full of the impressions of that juicy girl or that horny boy, doubtful of whether preserving innocence or following the instinct for an outstanding erotic adventure.
It is the moment of not yet knowing, vacillating between yes or no.
It is a same ritual each week-end, even if decisions are made once.
It is a game between identifying and identity.
The work describes the urban landscape as a scenario of a play, where the protagonists are embedded in without any chance to escape.
