Moscow

Today in 2012, in Moscow is opening the 7th Linoleum Animation and Media Art Festival in Moscow at Solyanka State Art Gallery, an established festival event, presenting a comprehensive selection from Wilfried’s new festival structure – animateCOLOGNE – Cologne Art & Animation Festival. Wilfried is keeping contacts, and – in 2015 the next collaboration is scheduled, and what surprise, the festival has moved to Kiev (Ukraine). Although the reason for this unusual step was never communicated, but reading between the lines – is seems to be a political decision, as Russia is undergoing fundamental restrictions concerning civil rights and democracy, and obviously Moscow does not seem to be a secure terrain, any more. So, the festival was moving to Ukraine following a pro-Western course.
But today in 2002, Wilfried is making a stop again in Bucharest, where he joins the final day of COOP Festival @ MNAC – National Museum of Contemporary Art presenting a selection of Wilfried’s experimental videos.

Solyanka is right there, where in Moscow vessels running up the blood, in the midst of urban life, 5 minutes from the Kremlin, right on the Ivanovo hill, and standing around, as if not rocked the twentieth century-the destroyer, miraculously survived 1917 churches – almost everything – almost as then. Here, as in few places in Moscow – survived the medieval maze of crooked streets, twisted into complex knots, making the lanes running down the hill. The word “Soup” comes from the times of Ivan the terrible, from his Salt yard.

The house where dwells our Museum, was built in the early XX century architects Sergeev, Sherwood and Herman. They managed to do what was required developers: most closely used in the project intricate shape of the plot, building up building both up and down. The house is a monument of neo-classicism.

Even before the emergence of the art gallery space, where now the Museum lives, it was a place of power. Here, for example, by the incredible tricks managed to get the space as a workshop one of the first Russian artists-performer Herman Vinogradov – although in the present limits of Soup in those days dwelt local housing office.

In its original form State gallery on Solyanka appeared in 1988. In those early years the space was famous as a Playground, showed a lot of naive art and the most prominent Russian primitivist painters of his time. In 2002, the Hodgepodge came a new Director, film historian Boris Pavlov, before heading section of the documentary and animated film in the State Central Museum of cinema, and then worked as chief curator and Deputy Olga Sviblova in the Moscow house of photography.

Synopsis
Transience is an interactive, experimental Flash composition based on different text, sound and music components created by Agricola de Cologne.

Confronted with essential questions of human destination and while acting through the artistic environment the user starts creating a virtual sculpture consisting of images, associations and processes on different levels.

“Identity of Colour”, 07:07:07, 2016

Film created by media artist Agricola de Cologne, based on the artist’s poem and voice performance of the same name created and executed in 2001.
The work combines DaDa like poetic texts, vector grafics and musical components created by the artist himself.

There are two work versions:

1. The netart piece, 2001, looping
developed according the principle of SAMAC
(Simultaneous Associative Media Art Composing) which describes Agricola’s individual way of experimental electronic writing: words, sound, images, animation, music and voice performance are developed simultaneously –depending on each other – in one long single process.

Voice and sound performance by Agricola de Cologne.

2. the video, 2016, 07.07.07
voice and sound performance by Wilfried Agricola de Cologne
The video is representing a reconstruction of the piece originally programmed in Flash (Macromedia) as netart which ist still existing as a completed netart work, however due to a specific, non-linear programming which could not be transferred to the linear structure of the video a complete reconstruction was necessary. Therefore the video is standing as an art work individually for itself.

Never Wake Up
movie created by media artist Agricola de Cologne.
It is based on the artist’s poem of the same name.

Subject:
Loss of identity: Soldiers become distorted, veterans of war are not able
to be reintegrated in society.

The poem/movie uses some fundamental images:
The soldier= metaphor for the human individual
War=metaphor for life, respectively the fights of all day life
Veteran of War=the human being who can not rid of the Shadows of the Past.

The work is developed according the principle of SAMAC
(Simultaneous Associative Media Art Composing) which describes Agricola’s individual way of experimental electronic writing: words, sound, images, animation, music and voice performance are developed simultaneously –depending on each other – in one long single process.

Voice and sound performance by Agricola de Cologne.
The movie is directed and produced by Agricola de Cologne in 2001.

Urban.early sunday morning_raw, 2002, 4:40
Synopsis
Video based on a poetic text by Agricola de Cologne inspired by the Central Station of Milan (Italy).

Metropolis: sunday morning, between open end and twilight, between hope and resignation, between following a dream and returning that night to the home town or village outside.
Coming from the disco, full of the impressions of that juicy girl or that horny boy, doubtful of whether preserving innocence or following the instinct for an outstanding erotic adventure.
It is the moment of not yet knowing, vacillating between yes or no.
It is a same ritual each week-end, even if decisions are made once.
It is a game between identifying and identity.
The work describes the urban landscape as a scenario of a play, where the protagonists are embedded in without any chance to escape.
