Today’s article is making a time jump into the year 2002, when Wilfried Internet based works are entering one festival after another, and many of the had either a virtual or a physical location at one of the progressive museums at that time.
Stasis_Space by John Kannenberg is such an online venue, launching today the exhibition “con|text” – running one month online including Wilfried’s recently released interactive work “|and_scape|” , yes, before anybody has the chance to enter and view, 4 weeks will be soon over. Somehow, it is a wrong calculation – 4 weeks in physical space represent quite a long duration, while 4 weeks online can be compared with one week in physical space, because it takes some time, until a reasonable number of visitors can be recruited.
The other location is Iowa City, which has, one would not believe it, a remarkable art museum whose direction is such progressive, that in times when usually art museums on the globe are banning digital art, the museum run by the university is organising since 1999 a festival for film, video and digital art, and – Wilfried is participating in 2002 in Thaw’02 – that’s the name of the festival, but – soon afterwards the festival will be discontinued. What a shame!
The three online works selected for both exhibitions are in the original state and require the latest Flash-plugin for the browser, free download from the Adobe website

03/06/2002 – 01/07/2002, on the web

Stasis_Space, the online exhibition space of Stasisfield.com, has unveiled its premiere exhibition. con|text : an exploration of our changing relationship to the world of words” runs 3 June through 1 July 2002. The gallery can be found at (not longer on the net).

The artists in “con|text” have each approached the issues of language and text from wildly individual standpoints. While common themes emerge from this body of work, con|text is very much the work of eight individual artistic voices. Featured in the exhibition are works by Wilfried Agricola de Cologne [Germany], Glenn Bach [USA], e.g.0 [Italy], Daniel Javed [Germany], Jessica Loseby [UK], Luigia Cardarelli [Italy], Kenric McDowell [USA] and Josh Russell [USA].

The works range from downloadable sound pieces and Flash presentations to free font files, manipulated digital imagery and a documented sound walk. Chicagoan John Kannenberg (the site’s founder) curated the exhibition, designed its unique presentation interface and wrote the catalog notes.

Stasisfield.com is a free mp3 label specializing in micro melodic experimental music. The Stasis_Space exhibition space works in tandem with the label, presenting works of equally challenging depth and relationship to the current digital arts movement.

“]and_scape[”

Synopsis
Interactive moving picture created in Flash by media artist Agricola de Cologne
inspired by poetic texts of Liubov Sirota, an Ukrainian Tchernobyl survivor.

The work is telling something about landscapes
imaginary landscapes, flourishing landscapes
landscapes of illusion, landscape of hope, landscape of innocence
landscapes of being home, landscapes of unscathed genetics
landscape of giving home to all beings of the Creation.
Are there any landscapes any longer, did not they dry out, blasted, shrinked to minimalism through the will for destruction, the bombs over Hiroshima, Chernobyl the completely mined enviroment which leaves no air to breath, the mountains of garbage collapsing……………..
who will remember all those little children
who will be born again and again
who will never get any chance to survive.
We will remember,
we will reconstruct forgotten landscapes
But will we succeed?

The work is developed according the principle of SAMAC
(Simultaneous Associative Media Art Composing) which describes Agricola’s individual way of experimental electronic writing: words, sound, images, animation, music and voice performance are developed simultaneously –depending on each other – in one long single process.

Voice and sound performance by Agricola de Cologne.

“Identity of Colour”, 07:07:07, 2016

Film created by media artist Agricola de Cologne, based on the artist’s poem and voice performance of the same name created and executed in 2001.
The work combines DaDa like poetic texts, vector grafics and musical components created by the artist himself.

There are two work versions:

1. The netart piece, 2001, looping
developed according the principle of SAMAC
(Simultaneous Associative Media Art Composing) which describes Agricola’s individual way of experimental electronic writing: words, sound, images, animation, music and voice performance are developed simultaneously –depending on each other – in one long single process.

Voice and sound performance by Agricola de Cologne.

2. the video, 2016, 07.07.07
voice and sound performance by Wilfried Agricola de Cologne
The video is representing a reconstruction of the piece originally programmed in Flash (Macromedia) as netart which ist still existing as a completed netart work, however due to a specific, non-linear programming which could not be transferred to the linear structure of the video a complete reconstruction was necessary. Therefore the video is standing as an art work individually for itself.
