San Vito /Tagliamento
Tokyo
On 6 March 1967, Wilfried’s mother is shooting a foto of her son in the kitchen. Wilfried is actually an excellent cook,, who is cooking for lunch for the family after his mother had decided to return as a teacher to the elementary school, and because Wilfried mostly is back from high-school much earlier than his mother he is completing his cooking abilities during the years.
6 March 2001, today a press statement had been released about Wilfried’s participation in the exhibition “Hic et Nunc” launched on 1 March 2001 in San Vito al/Tagliamento – a nice place located in the North of Venice –
For Wilfried, invited to attend the opening it is the 1st far distance travel after the coma (1998/99) and has therefore a particular relevance for normalizing the living conditions. But it was too early, it is today, that Angelo Bertani, organizer & curator of “Hicetnunc” finds Wilfried desperately sitting in his hotel room, refusing to make any step outside of room, he tells Angelo he can’t stand the situation any longer, but Angelo will understand only later – when he is phoning with Micha, Wilfried’s partner, that Wilfried’s refusal is a typical reaction on the physical and psychological consequences of the coma (1998/99). Only when Micha appears in San Vito two days later in order to take Wilfried back to Cologne, Wilfried is willing to leave the hotel room as a broken man, because he understands that the experiment and attempt failed to leave Cologne for the first time after all the stressful months to re-establish his new life. It will take another year, before Wilfried will definitely be able to visit San Vito & “HicetNunc” in 2002 and spend even some days in Venice, one of Wilfried ‘s favorite cities.
6 March 2003, today it is one of the last days of 6th Japan Media Art Festival (27 February – 9 March 2003) at Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography – including Wilfried’s Flash video – Urban.early sunday morning_raw
