The year 2005 was by chance a year when numerous festival foundations were taking place, for instance, CologneOFF – Cologne International Videoart Festival, which Wilfried was launching in Spring, or FONLAD – Digital Art Festival Coimbra/POrtugal or The One Minute Film Festival in Aarau/Switzerland, so worldwide a new generation of festivals and festival directors was entering the stage. And, this is most remarkable, after 10 years, these festival were discontinued and vanished nearly at the same time. CologneOFF stopped 2014, Fonlad 2015 and Aarau One Mininute Film festival 2016.
Today, the 5th festival edition starts in Aarau, Switzerland. historically relevant, it is a small place counting no more the 20’000 inhabitans. therefore it is most remarkable, that Aarau has quite relevant museums and contemporary art institutions, a fertile soil for organising a video festival during the summer time, and one minute films represent an interesting aspect within filmic creations, because the creator has to pack a lot of everything within the audio-visual one minute. Concentrating and compressing time, story, music etc is very often generating a very special type of films which cannot be compared with anything else, therefore it was a clever idea to organise during August an one minute film festival in Aarau, and being able, this way to invite more film makers than to usual film festivals and bring internationality into the otherwise very nice, but provincial place.
Wilfried participates 3 times 2008-2009-2010 – with his videos – Message to our Neighbors, Burning Phantom and The Pleasure Code. Today, the festival in 2009 is starting, but like in many other cases, Wilfried did not attend any of the festival editions, and when he was about to agree a cooperation between Cologne One Minute Film Festival and the festival in Aarau, its team decided in 2016 to discontinue. A pity, but 10 years running a festival is really a long time, and, in the case of CologneOFF, Wilfried was following new challenges, so the same might have happened to all other competitors, as well, starting around 2005 their festivals. That’s an important aspect, the temporary limits……..nothing is made for eternity, the only constant is the continuous change.
Aarau One Minute Film Festival
The 12th One Minute Film Festival 2016 was the last edition for the time being
After long discussions the festival team came to the conclusion to cancel the next edition of the festival in the year 2017. Future editions are not planed at the moment. In May 2017 a final event at the Stadtmuseum Aarau will take place with an aperitif and a selection of films.

KunstHaus Aarau
The Aargau Art Association was founded in 1860 and is one of the oldest and largest art associations in Switzerland. The aim was to build up an attractive collection of recent Swiss art, to found a museum and to promote understanding of the visual arts. Today the Aargauer Kunsthaus is a place of encounter and lively engagement with important works of art.
The Kunstverein is responsible for the activities of the Kunsthaus, while the canton of Aargau is responsible for the operation and infrastructure. The members enable the ambitious exhibition and event program and ensure diversity and quality with their contribution. This commitment is essential for the Kunsthaus and is worthwhile for the members: through a friendship with the Aargauer Kunsthaus, they have many advantages and can express their passion for art.
