Contingencia / Contingency
The Great Confinement / Lock Down the world has been forced to by that entity that is not even alive, Sars-Cov-2, aka coronavirus, Covid-19, has given us time to observe ourselves and observe the confined world. That time of reflection is translated, a little bit, in this series curated by Elizabeth Ross, who summoned women artists from various parts of the world under the CONTINGENCIA project, to share their experience – their fears, hopes, uncertainties – in a video piece.
During April and May 2020, 16 Spanish speaking artists based in different regions of the world contributed with work that touched their immediate existence under such extremely new conditions. Starting with a Mexican trapped in the Abu Dhabi desert, this selection conforms a bigger picture of what we are experiencing during this pandemia.
