Baia Mare
Wilfried is participating in this festival four times. Established at an unsual place at the perifery at the Romanian border, FIFE – Festival of Experimental Film was running in Baia Mare several years before it was discontinued. One must not underestimate the relevance of such cultural events, like at other places where Wilfried had been, for instance in Siberia, the local people are longing eagerly for the moment when the feeling returned to belong to the international community when the internationally orientated festival is starting once a year. The may have been different reasons, mostly the lack of funding, why the event finally stpped, but in any case it was a loss for the local culture.
