Today, Wilfried is visiting Vienna for the 2nd time in his life – invited by Künstlerhaus Vienna & Jana Wisniewski running an Internet portal dedicated to Internet based art. It’s on occasion of NewMediafest2010 – celebrating 10 years of Wilfried’s activities starting on 1 January 2000. While Wilfried likes the invitation and the reason why he is invited, he does not like the short time remaining, the evening before he arrived, staying one day, and the next morning return to Cologne. It is the principle of lack of sustainability, and -Wilfried actually does not know why he was following this or any other sortlike invitation, because afterwards it is as if the event hadn’t taken place, at all. Wilfried learns, that he will in future not follow such invitations any more – because its only meaning is to collect invitations and venues for being listed in the biography. Wilfried is an artist, and as a curator Wilfried is an artist as well, so he has no academic position where it is usual that lecturers make such short trips. These trips are representing breaks disturbing creative processes – and there is no time left for exploring Vienna and making contacts. The next jump goes back to 2005, when Wilfried’s video “House of Tomorrow” has been selected for Lisbon Gay & Lesbian Film Festival – in 2014, he jumps to Tel-Aviv where Wilfried is collaborating the 2nd time this year with Liliana Orbach’s Muza Plus – space for art – celebrating 10 years CologneOFF International Videoart Festival, – and back to 2006 to Argentina, where Gabriel Otero is organising his 1st Digital Art Festival in Bahia Blanca, one of the bigger cities in Argentina – and finally Wilfried is landing in Milan, where BOX-a new space for video art is presenting a selection of videoart , entitled ” Phantoms of Perception”, it is one of a few other programs which are not prepared for being streamed online 2020 – it is also the 2nd occasion in 2014 Wilfried is collaborating with the Milan based organisation “Visualcontainer”.
