In 2011, Szczecin is candidate for European Capital of Culture 2016. In this context – the art space OFFICYNA is working as “cultural observatory” hosting between 12 and 14 May CologneOFF 2011 – Baltic Sea – a coordinated event structure – taking place in May-June 2011 in Poland (Szczecin 12-14 May), Russia (St.Petersburg 19-21 May), Finland (Tampere 26-28 May) and Estonia (Tallinn 1-2 June) – presenting a comprehensive program of video art to be screened, projected and installed. In the end, Szczecin did not succeed, but Wroclaw (Poland) and San Sebastian (Spain) were elected as European Capitals of Culture. For the Baltic Sea event series a PDF catalogue has been released

Den Haag

The 12th May was also a relevant date for Wilfried’s participation in

Streaming Festival - The Hague
2006

The Streaming Festival – The Hague/Netherlands – – 9-12 May 2006
Wilfried Agricola de Cologne – House of Tomorrow, 2005, 3:10
The house of tomorrow is the house of one’s identity, it does not need to be a concrete house or building, but represents a secure and protected place where people can stand for what they are and represent, a human being. And this human may have many identities in different fields, the sexual identity represents only one among many others.

2007

*Steaming Festival The Hague/NL – 25-28 October 2007
Wilfried Agricola de Cologne – Morire Cuba, 2006, 4:00
Street scene in Havanna/Cuba. A real Cuban would die only on Cuba. Based on a traditional Cuban song.

2008

Streaming Festival The Hague/NL – 23-26 October 2008
Wilfried Agricola de Cologne – Hairdryer, 2008, 1:30
The hairdryer becomes a symbol for desire.

2009

Streaming Festival – The Geborgen Kamers – The Hague/NL – 15-17 April 2009
Wilfried Agriciola de Cologne – Truth- Paradise Found, 2004: 3:00
The video tells the story of the human desire to be as close to truth as possible. But who ever will succeed while living a life dominated by the fast running time and endless searching?
If there is any paradise, then monks or people really resting within themselves find a paradise close to truth close to GOD. But it is only truth people are believing in. Is there absolute truth?
The video consists of three sections, a spiritual and a physical section and the acting level, the artist who is filming the scene, an intruder who become witness of a ritual of truth.
This basic video was filmed in 2003 at the Rila Monastery, the spiritual centre of Bulgaria.

Actually an online festival, and its geographical location therefore does not really matter, the place Den Haag is in so far interesting, as Den Haag, differently than Rotterdam or Amsterdam, is generally not known as a home for moving images or new media. Wilfried is participating in the festival in 2006, 2007 and 2008. In 2009, Streaming Festival goes offline for the first time and organises a physical screening event at a local (Den Haag based) gallery “The Geborgen Kamers” – its activities are meanwhile discontinued, as well as Streaming Festival as a festival. Besides Wilfried, who had complemented his activities around video and new media by providing additional sources of information in shape of interviews (Interview Collection) or the artists database (AND), also Streaming Festival published interviews with the participating artists, and- so Wilfried did.
